As the weather improves, our course gets busier, particularly at weekends.
We pride ourselves here on being a course for all standards of golfer, but to successfully achieve our aim of golf being ‘a sport for all’ – we need YOUR help. How can you help? By following a few simple guidelines:
1. Play at a time that best suits your ability – in other words, if you are new to the game then please don’t play before 12pm on a weekend or after 3pm weekdays! The best time for new players to develop is to play late afternoon at weekends, or between 11am & 2pm on weekdays.
2. Let faster groups play through – keep up with the group in front, not just in front of the group behind. If the players behind you are waiting, stand to one side and allow them to play through. The best way to do this is to tee off on the next hole and get the group behind you to tee off at the same time too. Both groups then walk to your respective tee shots and the passing group play first then can continue ahead.
3. Speed of Play Guidelines – Speed should depend on group size:
1 or 2 player groups – average 9 mins per hole / 1hr 20 mins for 9 holes
3 Player Groups – average 10-11 mins per hols / 1hr 30-40 mins for 9 holes
4 Player groups – average 13 mins per hole / 2 hours for 9 holes
The above times are a guideline, but it is really important that groups playing at busy times adhere to the suggested speed of play, especially if you are playing in one of our weekly competitions. You’re usually first out and can therefore dictate pace of play for the whole day if we are fully booked.
Our current extremely busy times are:
Weekdays – from 3pm onwards (in Summer)
Weekends – 7.30am to 12pm
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE – YOU MIGHT ALSO SEE ANDY ON COURSE WITH HIS STOPWATCH SO PLEASE KEEP A GOOD PACE!!!
