What is TPI and what does it mean for Golfers?

Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) is the world’s leading golf-specific training and education system.

In simple terms, TPI identifies how your body moves, then shows how those movement patterns affect your swing, ball flight, and injury risk.  Instead of forcing a “one-size-fits-all” swing, lessons are built around what YOUR body can or can’t actually do.  Andy can undertake a 16 point screening to evaluate your mobility and flexibility.

Why it matters:

  • Swing improvements that match your physical abilities
  • More consistency and power with less effort
  • Reduced risk of pain or injury
  • Faster, longer-lasting results

In a nutshell, TPI helps your Coach improve your swing by first understanding how your body moves—because the best swing is the one your body can repeat.

TPI Level 2 Power focuses on helping golfers hit the ball further, more consistently, and with less stress on the body by training the right muscles in the right way for the golf swing.

It goes beyond basic fitness and flexibility and targets how golfers generate speed, transfer force, and stay stable through the swing.

More Clubhead Speed (without swinging harder)
You learn how to create speed from the ground up—using your legs, core, and sequencing properly—rather than relying on arms and timing.  Result: More distance with better control

Improved Stability and Balance
Level 2 training means your coach can improves how well you control your body during rotation, weight shift, and follow-through.  Result: Cleaner contact, tighter dispersion, and better consistency.

Better Swing Mechanics Through Physical Training
Many swing faults are actually physical limitations (lack of strength, poor force transfer, weak glutes/core).  Result: Swing changes become easier and more permanent because the body can support them.

Reduced Injury Risk & Longer Playing Career
By strengthening key golf muscles and improving how force is absorbed and transferred, you place less stress on the lower back, hips, shoulders, and elbows.  Result: More pain-free golf and better durability over time.

Faster Results From Lessons
When strength and power training is paired with coaching, you don’t just understand the changes—you can actually execute them because its built around you.  Result: Lessons translate into real performance on the course.

A TPI Level 2 Power Coach helps you swing faster, stay more stable, and protect your body—so your lessons lead to more distance, consistency, and long-term improvement.
